Last updated November 2026: Bintan nightlife is resort-led, built around sunset drinks, a floating bar and early finishes rather than clubs. Most of it clusters around Nirwana Gardens and Lagoi, and Calypso Floating Bar lists a 10:30 pm close. Use the table below to match a venue type to the evening you want.

Bintan nightlife at a glance: what to expect

Bintan is a quiet resort island. Evenings mean beach bars, reggae-style music, dinner at Treasure Bay or Plaza Lagoi, and an early night. Anyone wanting a club strip should plan a different destination. Alcohol sits mainly in resort venues, and Bintan is part of Muslim-majority Indonesia, so confirm what each venue serves before you go. Daytime options live in our daytime activity guide.

Best evening and night spots

Start with Calypso Floating Bar at Nirwana Gardens, beside The Kelong Seafood Restaurant. Its official page describes a Rastafarian-influenced bar over the water, with room for 60 outdoors. Nirwana Gardens also lists a Beach Bar at The Beach Club, a Pool Bar, Koko Beach Hut and ZT Bar & KTV. Hours for those four are not published in our sources. Xana Beach Club promotes a private beach and pool, with discounted drinks from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm on selected drinks. Treat that as a promotional claim and confirm it with Xana directly.

Hours, costs and what to verify

Calypso lists Monday to Thursday hours of 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Friday to Sunday it opens at 11:30 am and still closes at 10:30 pm. A sunset promotion ran daily from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, weather permitting, but it carried an April to June 2026 label. Confirm current offers before you plan around it. Menu prices are not in our sources, so read Calypso's downloadable beverage menu or ask each venue. Bringing your own drinks to Calypso triggers corkage fees.

  • Soft drinks: Rp 10,000 per can.
  • Beer: Rp 20,000 per can.
  • Liquor, spirits, champagne or wine: Rp 300,000 per bottle.
  • Budget picture: the night market is cheapest, resort bars cost more, and outside drinks add corkage.

Getting back after dark: ferry and transport

Last ferry departures are not in our sources, so confirm them on the ferry timing guide before you book dinner. For late rides back to your hotel, ask the front desk and read about getting around after dark.

Good to know

Day trippers have a tighter evening, since Calypso's weekday opening is 4:30 pm and last-ferry times remain unconfirmed.

  • Day trippers: work backward from the last ferry, then fit sunset drinks and dinner into what remains.
  • Staying in Lagoi: you can finish early and walk or take a short hotel ride.
  • Staying elsewhere: arrange the return ride before you leave your hotel.

How to plan your evening by traveler type

Most good evenings follow one pattern: a 4:30 pm start, sunset drinks, dinner, then bed before 10:30 pm. Calypso's weekday opening is 4:30 pm, so that timing works well there. Short on time? Weigh it against whether Bintan is worth visiting. Boat fans can look at sunset boat trips instead.

Tip

Weekend visitors gain an earlier start, since Friday to Sunday it opens at 11:30 am, not the weekday 4:30 pm.

  • Couples: sunset at Calypso, then dinner, then a night mangrove tour if one is running.
  • Families: early dinner, the night market, and a firefly boat ride if the operator allows children.
  • Groups: beach club at sunset, then ZT Bar & KTV for karaoke.
  • Solo and budget: night market food, then one drink at a resort bar.
  • Day trippers: skip the late slot and keep the ferry deadline in front of you.

Where to stay for Bintan nightlife

Base yourself in the Lagoi resort cluster if evenings matter. Nirwana Gardens, Treasure Bay and Plaza Lagoi keep bars and dinner close together. Trikora Beach suits quieter stays but needs more transport planning. Our sources give no distances or fares, so ask your hotel. A morning spa session makes a good recovery after a late night.

  • Lagoi resorts: shortest hop between dinner and drinks.
  • Trikora or elsewhere: book your return ride before the evening starts.

Mistakes to avoid

Sponsored

Assuming a club scene is the biggest one. Another is ignoring corkage, since a beer can brought to Calypso adds Rp 20,000. Do not rely on an April to June 2026 promotion in November. Weather can also cancel floating-bar or boat plans, so check the BMKG forecast and read seasonal weather advice. For broader trip ideas, browse Wonderful Indonesia. Finally, never miss the last ferry.

  • Missing the last ferry back to Singapore.
  • Expecting late closing times when Calypso lists 10:30 pm.
  • Quoting menu prices without checking the venue's own menu.
