Nusa Lembongan Night Market: What Exists and Where to Eat
Is there a night market on Nusa Lembongan? Where to eat after dark, how to get around at night, and which Bali markets are worth the ferry.
On this page
Last updated November 2026: none of the sources we reviewed describes a dedicated Nusa Lembongan night market, so plan around small evening eating spots instead. Jungut Batu has the most eateries on the island, and Sindhu Market in Sanur is the nearest proper night market on Bali. Start with our Nusa Lembongan island guide for the wider picture.
Is There a Nusa Lembongan Night Market?
Short answer: no verified, named night market operates on Nusa Lembongan. Nothing we reviewed gives a market name, an address, or opening hours for the island. Treat any claim of a fixed stall lineup with caution until you see it yourself. Jungut Batu is where evening food clusters. Wikivoyage describes its main beachfront road as the busiest on the island, lined with eateries, shops, and accommodation. Walk that road around sunset, which falls between roughly 17:30 and 18:00 all year, and see what is open. Our guide to after-dark things to do covers what else happens once the light fades.

Where to Eat After Dark on Lembongan
Evening food depends on where you sleep. Jungut Batu in the northwest is the biggest base, with many hotels and cheap eateries. Mushroom Bay is a sheltered bay with small waterside restaurants, and it goes quiet after 15:00 once day-trippers return to Bali. Dream Beach and Sunset Beach in the south have fewer options. Expect casual warungs and, at best, a few roadside food carts, and check locally because hours vary by season. We could not verify meal prices for the island, so read the menu board before you order. Browse sit-down restaurants on the island if you want a set venue.

- Jungut Batu: best odds for variety. Walk the beachfront road after sunset and compare menus.
- Mushroom Bay: waterside restaurants, but quiet once day-trippers leave around 15:00.
- Dream Beach and Sunset Beach: more remote with fewer options. Eat before you go or confirm your resort kitchen is open.
- Lembongan Village: the main population Centre in the southern interior, with some accommodation. Ask your host what is open.
Getting Around at Night

Lembongan has virtually no cars. Pick-up trucks act as taxis, and Wikivoyage lists most trips at Rp 100,000–150,000 as of mid-2026. Motorbikes rent for Rp 75,000–150,000 per day. A scooter ride on the back of a local's bike from Dream Beach to Jungut Batu cost Rp 70,000 and up in mid-2026. Walking works within Jungut Batu. From the end of Jungut Batu beach, Mushroom Bay is a 35-minute coastal walk, so skip that stretch after dark. A local boat between the two costs about Rp 30,000 one way, but boats suit daylight better than night. Roads are narrow and hilly, get minimal maintenance, and have blind corners. Riding yourself in the dark is the riskiest option. See getting around the island for daytime choices.
Scooter rides from Dream Beach to Jungut Batu cost Rp 70,000 and up in mid-2026, while most pick-up trips run Rp 100,000–150,000.
Night Markets on Mainland Bali Worth the Ferry
Hours below come from one Bali tour operator's listing and are unverified, so confirm them before you go. Sindhu Market in Sanur is the practical pick because fast boats leave from Sanur. That listing says most dishes there cost under about Rp 50,000. Wikivoyage gives Sanur to Lembongan crossings of 35–45 minutes, with one line saying about 30. One-way fares run Rp 115,000–300,000 online, and return tickets run Rp 400,000–600,000. We could not verify the last return departure, so confirm it with your operator. Operator details sit in our Lembongan fast boat guide. Route options from the mainland are in our Bali to Lembongan breakdown.

| Market | Area | Rough hours (unverified) | Fits Lembongan travelers? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sindhu Market | Sanur | 16:00–22:00, best 18:00–20:00 | Best fit. Closest to the Sanur boats, cash only. |
| Gianyar Night Market | Gianyar | 15:00–midnight | Poor fit. Far from the ferry ports and needs a driver. |
| Legian Night Market and Garlic Lane | Kuta area | 19:00–23:00 | Only if you stay in south Bali. Late return. |
| Kreneng Market | Denpasar | 16:00–midnight | Needs a full mainland night and a driver. |
| Taman Sari Night Market | Kerobokan | 18:00–22:00 | Skip. Cash only, off the main track, driver needed. |
How to Combine It With Your Stay
Day-trippers heading back to Bali miss the Lembongan evening entirely. If that is your plan, see the day trip options and eat on the mainland instead. Overnight guests face a trade-off. A Sindhu Market evening means two crossings of 35–45 minutes, so 70–90 minutes on the water alone. Add a Rp 400,000–600,000 return ticket and a late boat you have not verified. Most fast boats also involve wading up to the knees at boarding, which is awkward with bags at night. A mainland market works best on a stopover day before or after the island. Eat at Sindhu Market, sleep in Sanur, and cross in the morning. Our first-time arrival guide covers that crossing. Staying put is easier on a short trip. Try a sunset at Jungut Batu, then dinner nearby. For a slower night, look at beach club evenings. A post-dinner massage is another low-effort option. May to September is drier, and Wikivoyage flags January and February as the height of the rainy season. Read our seasonal timing notes before booking. Still weighing the island itself? See whether Lembongan is worth visiting.

Cash, Safety and Etiquette
Mainland night-market vendors mostly take cash only, per the same tour operator listing. Whether Lembongan stalls accept cards is unverified, so carry rupiah in small notes. We could not confirm ATM availability on the island, so withdraw cash on the mainland before you cross. Bargain politely at craft stalls only. Food prices are usually fixed. Ask before photographing vendors or their offerings. Keep valuables close in crowded areas such as Legian. For current events and visitor notices, check the Bali tourism board site.
Small notes matter here, since a Sindhu Market listing puts most dishes under about Rp 50,000 and many vendors struggle to make change.
Mistakes to Avoid
Most evening problems come from assuming Bali's market scene carries over to the island.
- Assuming Bali's market hours or a night-market scene applies on Lembongan.
- Missing the last boat. Confirm the final return departure with your operator first.
- Riding a motorbike in the dark on narrow, hilly roads with blind corners.
- Carrying only large notes. Many vendors struggle to make change.
- Booking a Gianyar, Kreneng, or Taman Sari evening from Lembongan without a driver and a plan to stay overnight on the mainland.
