Last updated November 2026. Amed weather is tropical, hot and humid, and drier than most of Bali because the coast sits in a rain shadow. Use this guide to pick a season, then check a live forecast for your exact dates. If you are still deciding whether to come at all, start with our take on whether Amed is worth visiting.

Amed Weather at a Glance
Expect hot days, warm nights and a pattern of clearer mornings. Cloud and showers tend to build later in the day. A Met Office forecast for Bali in early November 2026 showed daily highs of 28–29°C (82–84°F) and lows of 19–22°C (66–72°F). That is a one-week snapshot, not a climate norm. For live conditions on your travel dates, use the BMKG forecast service.

| Factor | What to expect | How sure are we |
|---|---|---|
| Daytime heat | Around 28–30°C (82–86°F) in the November sources | Snapshot data, not a norm |
| Nights | Roughly 19–22°C (66–72°F) | Snapshot data, not a norm |
| Rain | Lower than south and central Bali; showers cluster in the afternoon | Pattern, confirm with BMKG |
| Best window | Dry season for most visitors | General pattern |
Why Amed Is Drier Than the Rest of Bali

Amed is a leeward stretch of East Bali. Mount Agung and the eastern hills sit behind it, which creates a rain shadow. Cloud and rain are often squeezed out on higher ground before they reach the shore. The result is dry hills and black-sand bays that usually get less rain than Ubud or the south coast. Many travelers check a generic Bali forecast and misjudge Amed. Instead, search for the Amed point forecast on BMKG. Even so, a drier coast is not a dry coast. A Met Office Bali forecast for 12–14 November 2026 showed rain chances of 90% or higher at 8am, so wet spells can still arrive.
Amed Weather by Month

Bali has a dry season and a wet season. As a general rule, the drier months run through the middle of the year, and the wetter months cluster around the turn of the year. Exact start and end dates shift every year, so confirm them with BMKG climate guidance before booking non-refundable stays. The table below is qualitative on purpose. It avoids month-level numbers that this guide cannot source.
| Months | Rain level | Sea and visibility | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| January–February | Highest of the year, showers and storms likely | Can be choppy, more runoff | Okay if flexible |
| March–April | Easing, mixed days | Improving | Okay |
| May–June | Low | Generally clearer | Go |
| July–August | Low | Generally clearer, busiest period | Go, book early |
| September–October | Low, warming up | Generally clear | Go |
| November–December | Rising, afternoon showers | Mixed | Okay, plan mornings |

Dry Season vs Wet Season: Which Fits You?
Dry season suits divers, photographers and anyone chasing a clear Agung skyline. The trade-off is more crowds and higher prices. Wet season brings more cloud, fewer visitors and easier room deals. Here is an illustration for comparing quotes, not a published rate. If a room is quoted at Rp 600,000 a night in a quiet month and Rp 900,000 in peak July, that gap is the price of reliable weather. Ask each guesthouse for both seasons in writing. Heat-sensitive visitors and budget travelers should weigh the shoulder months. Browse places to stay in Amed and compare.

Best Time for Diving, Snorkeling, and Mount Agung Views
Mornings are the better window for both water and sky. Winds were light at 1–2 mph before 10am in the Met Office hourly data, and rain chances stayed under 5% until late morning. Gusts climbed to about 15 mph by midday. Plan snorkeling over the shallow reefs early, and see Amed's beaches for entry points. Agung can disappear behind cloud later in the day. Treat sunrise as your best shot in any season. Confirm cancellation terms with dive operators, since heavy rain can cloud the water. Wider ideas are in our guide to 8 Best Things To Do in Amed, Bali: Snorkeling & Views.

| Activity | Dry season | Wet season |
|---|---|---|
| Snorkeling and diving | Best | Workable, visibility varies |
| Sunrise Agung views | Best | Poor to workable |
| Hiking and day trips | Best | Workable, slippery trails |
| Beach time | Best | Workable between showers |
| Night-market evenings | Best | Workable, bring a rain layer |
Heat, Humidity, UV, and Wind: What It Actually Feels Like

Humidity does the heavy lifting. The Met Office showed feels-like highs of 31°C (88°F) against actual highs near 29°C (84°F). Yandex listed a typical November pair of 30°C (86°F) by day and 22°C (72°F) at night, with humidity around 76–87%. UV was flagged 8–10 as very high in the Met Office data, with advice to seek shade from 11am to 3pm. Some days showed even higher readings. Wind stays light on most mornings. Drink water steadily and schedule hikes before 10am. For live readings, check the Met Office Bali forecast.
What to Do When It Rains

Showers in the sources peaked in the afternoon, so keep mornings for the outdoors. When a downpour hits, move indoors. Lunch at one of the 8 Best Restaurants in Amed (Bali): Where to Eat by Budget & View works well. Evenings can still be worthwhile at the Amed Night Market? What to Know and Where to Eat After Dark once rain eases. For a livelier night, see Amed Nightlife: Bars, Live Music & Night Dives. If the weather turns for a full day, pick a drive from Day Trips From Amed: Easy East Bali Options & Routes. Heavy rain can slow road transfers from southern Bali, so leave buffer time and avoid tight flight connections.
Afternoon showers build in the hours when shade is advised from 11am to 3pm, so schedule outdoor plans before 10am and lunch indoors.
What to Pack and Plan by Season

Light, quick-dry clothing suits every month. Add reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and a thin rain layer. Water shoes help on the black-pebble shore. Dry season needs earlier bookings, so lock in rooms and dive slots first. Wet season rewards flexibility. Book refundable rooms and ask whether dive trips can be moved. Compare options in our Amed stay guide and check cancellation terms. For official regional updates, see the Bali Tourism Board.
Compare the illustrative Rp 900,000 in peak July against Rp 600,000 a night in a quiet month, then lock in refundable rooms early.
Mistakes to Avoid When Planning Around Amed Weather
Do not read a south-coast forecast as an Amed forecast. Do not treat one week of data as a seasonal rule. Avoid scheduling every outdoor activity after noon, when showers and cloud usually build. Skip midday hikes during the 11am–3pm UV window. Never book the first dive of your trip on your last day, because weather delays leave no spare slot. Finally, check a live forecast a few days out and again the night before key plans.
