Last updated November 2026: a Lombok massage is easy to arrange in the main tourist areas, from resort spas to simpler local options. One Senggigi day spa listed sessions between IDR 400,000 and IDR 600,000 at the time of research. Use this guide to pick a treatment, an area and a venue type before you book. For wider trip planning, start with our Lombok things to do guide.

Types of Lombok massage and who each suits

Match the treatment to what your body needs after the day you just had. Relaxation oil massage suits stress and travel fatigue. Deep or bamboo work suits sore muscles. Foot massage suits tired legs after long walks. Head, neck and shoulder sessions suit desk-bound or flight-stiff backs. Local-flavour options include Lombok bamboo massage and boreh, a warm wrap of ground rice, spices and roots. Qamboja Spa at Qunci Villas in Senggigi names boreh, a herbal compress and reflexology on its own treatment list. The table below uses one Senggigi day spa's menu as a dated sample, not an island-wide price list.

How much a massage costs in Lombok

Treat these figures as one data point. One Senggigi day spa, Uma Bhumi, listed most single treatments between IDR 400,000 and IDR 600,000 when this guide was researched. A 60-minute foot or head-and-shoulder session sat at IDR 400,000. Ninety-minute bamboo and BHUMI sessions sat at IDR 550,000 to IDR 600,000. Qamboja Spa lists a 25-minute back and shoulder therapy and a four-hour half-day package, but shows no prices in the material we reviewed. We have no verified prices for beach, street or in-room massage, so we give none. Confirm every rate on the venue's own menu or by message before you commit. Prices were not re-verified on a fixed date, so check the live menu.

Where to get a massage: Senggigi, Kuta and beyond

Senggigi has the best-documented spa options. Uma Bhumi sits on Jl. Wisata Alam in Senggigi, West Lombok, with six treatment rooms for singles and couples. Qamboja Spa is inside Qunci Villas, also in Senggigi. Check whether Qamboja takes non-guests, because the sources do not say. In the south, Ombak Wellness Spa lists a Jl. Sawe Batu Riti address in Kuta Lombok, with hours of 10:00-21:00 daily on its Instagram Bio. Treat that as an unconfirmed lead and verify it first. Surf-focused travelers heading south can read our Lombok surf guide for the area. We have no verified venues for Mataram or the Gili islands, so ask your accommodation for current recommendations there. Arriving travelers can compare transfer logic in our guide to reaching Lombok. Flight details are on the Lombok International Airport site.

Spa, local massage shop or in-room: how to choose

Each venue type trades price, privacy and effort differently. This is editorial judgment, not measured data. Spas and resort treatment rooms usually give private rooms and set menus. Independent shops are simpler and often walk-in. In-room or beach sessions save travel but depend on the provider you find. Use the checklist to decide.

  • Choose a day spa or resort spa if you want a private room, a printed menu, couples options or a named treatment like bamboo massage.
  • Choose an independent shop if you want a quick session and are happy to ask for the price before you start.
  • Choose an in-room session if you are too tired to travel, and ask your hotel which provider it trusts.
  • Choose a beach massage only if you are comfortable agreeing price and duration first.
  • Look for clean towels, a clear menu with durations and a quiet room as hygiene and comfort cues.

Timing a massage around your itinerary

Book a massage when your body will thank you, not when it is about to be tested again. After a surf day, a 60-minute foot or shoulder session fits well. For a long ride, see our Lombok scooter rental guide for how far you may be riding. After white-water or trekking days, a 90-minute deep or bamboo session suits sore muscles. Our Lombok rafting guide covers one such day. Arrival and departure days suit a short 25-minute back and shoulder session, where a spa offers one. A massage also works as a wet-day plan. Check our Lombok rainy season guide for when that matters, and our Best Time to Visit Lombok: Month-by-Month Guide by Goal page for the wider calendar.

Tip

Arrival and departure days suit a short 25-minute back and shoulder session. Qamboja's listing shows no prices in our sources.

Pregnancy and special-needs massage: what to ask

The only hard fact in our sources comes from Uma Bhumi. Its Inaq pregnancy massage runs 70 minutes at IDR 600,000, and treatments cannot be performed until the second trimester. Other venues may have different rules. Ask each venue about its pregnancy policy, therapist training and positioning before booking. Speak with your own clinician first. Also mention injuries, skin conditions and any oil or ingredient allergies, whatever your situation. We give no medical claims here.

Booking, etiquette and mistakes to avoid

Sponsored

Message or call spas ahead in busy periods, especially for couples or 90-minute slots. Walk-ins are more realistic at independent shops. Confirm cancellation terms, payment method and tipping norms directly, because our sources do not cover them. Wear what the venue provides and speak up if the pressure is too firm or too light. Pair a spa visit with a beach day using our Lombok beaches guide, or an evening out at one of the Lombok Beach Clubs: Where to Go, Costs and How to Choose.

  • Skipping the price check: agree the duration and total before the session starts.
  • Booking a deep session right before a long transfer or early start.
  • Assuming a resort spa admits non-guests: ask first.
  • Not mentioning allergies to oils or boreh ingredients.
  • Treating sample menu prices as island-wide rates.
